Cops: Teen hurt in Tacony hit-run

A 16-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital this afternoon after getting hit by a car that fled the scene, police said.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. on Unruh Avenue near Ditman Street in Tacony, police said.

A man in a silver Honda was traveling the wrong way on Unruh Avenue and struck the victim as he was crossing the street. The driver — who witnesses said was a bearded man in his 20s wearing a royal blue long-sleeved shirt and grey sweatpants — sped away on Ditman Street, according to police.

Medics took the teen to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he was treated for third-degree burns, a fractured left arm and internal bleeding. He has since been placed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
