Cops: Fake nurse examined children at city hospital

A Feltonville woman allegedly pretended to be a nurse Tuesday at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children and was busted after examining at least two children, police said Thursday.

A Feltonville woman allegedly pretended to be a nurse Tuesday at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children and was busted after examining at least two children, police said Thursday.

Ashley Delvalle, 24, of the 4700 block of North Second Street, was charged with simple assault and indecent assault after she allegedly touched one child during a physical examination and took the weight of another child, police said.

Police found out about Delvalle when a hospital social worker informed officers that a woman went into several patients' rooms and told parents she was a nurse performing examinations. Hospital officials determined DelValle had come to the hospital with her own child before the unusual incidents began.

Delvalle is being held on $50,000 bail.
