Cops probe child-luring incident near Chesco school

Police are trying to find the man who attempted to lure two boys into his vehicle near a Chester County school.

West Whiteland Township police said a vehicle drove in front of the two 14-year-olds as they were walking near the Church Farm School in Exton at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

When the boys tried to walk past the car, the driver asked them if they were waiting for a bus and offered to give them a ride.

After the boys declined, the driver said, "No, get in. I'll give you a ride," and then began circling them with his car in an effort to block their path, according to police.

The boys ran away. Police said the vehicle was last seen driving east on East Lincoln Highway toward Route 202.

The driver is described as an Asian man in his 40s, with an average height and weight. He had short black hair, wore glasses and spoke with an accent. The vehicle was described as a red sedan, possibly a Dodge Challenger or Charger, with a gray interior, black door handles and potentially a black stripe on the trunk or bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Whiteland Township police at 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100.
