Crash shuts down Pa. Turnpike in Bensalem
A crash involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer has shut down a section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County.
The accident was reported in the westbound lanes near the Route 1 interchange in Bensalem around 10:50 a.m. All westbound lanes are blocked due to the crash, according to the PennDOT.
Images from the scene show part of the truck hanging off the roadway. Fuel was reported to be leaking into Neshaminy Creek.
Delays are expected in the area, PennDOT said.
No injuries were immediately reported.
The crash comes after several other serious accidents also tied up major highways earlier this morning. A multi-vehicle crash was reported on the Turnpike in Lower Moreland, and one person was killed in a two-car accident on the Schuylkill Expressway.
