The big record: Most money for a single winner
One ticket sold in Florida has won the Powerball jackpot, with a final annuity value of $590.5 million, short of the advertised estimate of $600 million.
It failed to break the all-time record of $656 million set in March 2012 by Mega Millions.
It did set a record, however, for the biggest jackpot with a single winner. The record Mega Millions prize was split three ways.
It was also a record annuity prize for Powerball, although its cash payout, about $371 million, was exceeded by the Nov. 28 Powerball drawing's $384.7 million, paid to two winners. November's annuity was the previous Powerball record, $587.5 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11. Pennsylvania had two $1 million winners, and New Jersey had three. In all, 35 tickets just missed winning, matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball. Two of them, sold in New York and South Carolina won $2 million each for also having the Power Play prize-multiplier option.
The jackpot reboots to $40 million for Wednesday's drawing.
Mega Millions is back to $12 million for Tuesday's drawing, after New Jersey and Virginia tickets hit a $190 million jackpot Friday night.

The world record for a lottery jackpot was set in late December by the Spanish Christmas Lottery, whose top tier, known as El Gordo, or "The Fat One," was worth $950 million, according to CNN. That was split by 180 tickets.
