'Hurricane' Schwartz: New year brings the cold

With temperatures already averaging more than 13 degrees above "normal" this month, December will smash all records for the region - by far.

It will also end on the mild side.

Then, as soon as the new year starts, it will start getting colder, but just seasonably cold, with highs in the 40s. We have one chance of rain late Wednesday, mainly in Delaware and Sout Jersey, and it won't be as heavy as previous rains.

Wednesday: Late rain, mainly south and east. High 56

Thursday: Clouds to sun. Still mild. High 50

Friday: Windy and chilly. High 44
