A 21-year-old man is recovering after he was shot Saturday night in South Philadelphia.

Officers found the victim lying along the 1800 block of South 23rd Street, near Moore Street, shortly after 11:30 p.m., police said.

He had been shot 11 times in his lower legs, right forearm and right buttocks.

Police rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was placed in stable condition.

The victim told investigators he was walking north on 23rd Street when he heard gunfire and fell to the ground, but that he did not see who shot him, police said.

The suspected gunman is described only as a black male, last seen wearing a dark blue jean jacket, a white shirt, black pants and white sneakers.

Police did not disclose a possible motive, and no arrest had yet been made Sunday.
