A man was shot and killed Saturday morning in West Philadelphia.

A man was shot and killed Saturday morning in West Philadelphia.

Officers responded around 3:15 a.m. to a radio call reporting a gunshot victim on the 100 block of South 62nd Street, near Chestnut Street.

There, police found a 25-year-old man, unconscious and lying face down on the sidewalk. He had been shot in the head, according to investigators. Medics on the scene pronounced the man dead about 10 minutes later.

There was not yet word on a motive Saturday afternoon, and no arrests had been made in connection with the slaying. As with all homicides, officials are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
