Police are probing the death of a 24-year-old man who was fatally shot Friday night inside an apartment in the Frankford section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Officers responded around 11:57 p.m. to a report of gunshots coming from a home on the 4300 block of Elizabeth Street, police said.

They found the victim lying on his back inside a second-floor front apartment. He had been shot in his chest and arms, according to investigators.

Medics pronounced the man dead on the scene around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

His name was not released, pending notification of his family members.

There wasn't word on a suspect or motive in the slaying, and police reported no arrest.
