Man slashed in face outside Old City nightclub

A man was slashed in the face early Saturday after an argument erupted outside Lit Ultrabar in Old City.

A man was slashed in the face early Saturday after an argument erupted outside Lit Ultrabar in Old City.

Police said the victim, 27, was leaving the nightclub on the 400 block of North Second Street about 3:30 a.m., when a man asked to speak with him privately.

As the two stood outside against the club's exterior wall, the man grabbed the victim and "demanded to know what he did with the money that he picked up the week before from the club floor," police said in a news release.

A second man then walked over to the pair and also demanded to know where the money was, claiming several people saw the victim pick it up, according to investigators.

Police said the victim began to struggle with that man, who allegedly took out an unknown object and cut the victim along his right cheek and upper jaw line.

As the two fought, the first suspect rifled through the victim's pockets, taking his wallet, police said.

Investigators said the altercation ended when the victim realized he was bleeding, and the first suspect, described as a 6-foot tall black male in his 20s with a Mohawk-style haircut, walked off in an unknown direction.

The second suspect, described as a 5-foot-10-inch tall, bearded black male in his 20s, was last seen walking south on Second Street toward Callowhill Street, according to investigators.

Police said the victim's wallet was later found in the parking lot with about $200 in cash missing.

No arrests had yet been reported Saturday afternoon.
