One man is in custody and a second is being sought in connection with a violent home invasion robbery in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia.

A 46-year-old man told police he was inside his home on the 2200 block of Disston Street about 11:15 p.m. Friday when two masked men walked through his front door and demanded money and drugs.

One of the men was armed with a silver and black pistol, police said. He allegedly threatened to shoot the victim's wife and son during a brief struggle that ensued.

The victim then handed over $480 in cash, and the man with the gun walked upstairs and took a phone belonging to the victim's wife, police said. No injuries were reported.

Both men fled the home and were seen entering a gold-colored vehicle, which was later stopped along the 4700 block of Torresdale Avenue, police said. Though the 24-year-old driver was taken into custody, the second suspect was not present.

The vehicle was towed to a police garage to be searched after the approval of a warrant. Charges will be filed against the driver pending a positive identification, police said.

The second suspect remained at large Saturday. Police described him as a 5-foot-8 white or Hispanic man with a medium build, last seen wearing all-black clothing and a black mask.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Philadelphia police.
