Parveen: Cooler temps and wind for Philly area

We're dry for Friday. Winds will increase from the northwest around 10 to 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph.

Temperatures will be cooler with highs around 50 degrees. Clouds will linger, then we'll see developing sunshine later in the day.

Late Friday night and early Saturday there will be lake effect snow to our north and west near the Great Lakes. The strong northwest wind could push some snow showers into the Poconos.

Saturday will be windy and colder. Morning lows will be around 31 degrees but the gusty winds will make it feel more like 20 degrees across most of the area.

Through the afternoon, highs will only top out around 40, but still with the wind, we'll feel about 10 degrees colder than the actual temperature. It will be cloudy and dry.

Sunday won't be as windy, but still chilly. Highs around the mid 40s and sunny.

Starting next week we warm to near 60 on Monday, then a gradual warm-up into Christmas Eve with temperatures possibly around 70 degrees! That would be a record high for Christmas Eve, but it will come with rain. There are chances next Tuesday through Thursday.

As of now, Christmas Day looks colder, with temperatures in the 50s, which is still above normal.
