Parveen: Windy and colder but warmup on the way
It's windy and colder now, but another warmup is forecast to start Monday, raising the possibility of record high temperatures on Christmas Eve.
Windy and colder now!
Winds are increasing through the area as temperatures drop, and this will be the case through tomorrow with gusts as high as 35mph. Actual morning lows will be around 30 degrees but feeling close to 20 degrees with the wind.
Through Saturday afternoon, it'll be windy and partly cloudy, highs around 40 degrees but feeling like 30 with the wind. Some snow showers could blow into the Poconos and possibly Lehigh Valley with the strong northwest wind bringing lake-effect snow closer.
Sunday won't be as windy, highs around 45 degrees and sunny. Great football weather! Temperatures will be around 40 by kickoff time for the Eagles.
Our next warmup starts Monday as the cold air retreats back to the north. Temps warm to near 60 Monday, then 61 Tuesday, 66 Wednesday, and possibly 70 degrees Christmas Eve! That would be a record high! This warmup will also come with rain showers starting Tuesday through Thursday.
Christmas Day looks mostly sunny and cooler. Highs around 55 degrees.
