Police have released surveillance video of a brutal robbery and assault that took place Tuesday morning inside a beauty supply store in Wynnefield.

Police said the victim, a 67-year-old woman, was inside Judy Wigs at 1917 N. 54th St. when the suspect entered shortly before 7:30 a.m.

The woman recognized the suspect from a robbery the week before during which he allegedly reached over the counter, opened the register and took $70. Police said when she asked him to leave, he replied, "Give me the money."

The woman tried to call police but the suspect pushed her into a glass case, according to investigators. The teen can be seen on video punching and kicking the woman multiple times as she lays on the ground. Police said he then fled on foot.

The victim suffered a cut to her left hand and bruising and swelling to her head and face, according to police.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10-inch tall, heavyset black male between the ages of 15 and 17 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray polo shirt and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with information on the suspect or crimes is asked to contact the Southwest Detective Division at 215-685-3183 or 3184, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477) or texting PPD TIP (773847).
