Ready for spring as we head into Christmas week?

Though John Bolaris will be up at his 'White Christmas' watch a bit later today, we thought we'd let you know what to expect before the holiday: Some much needed warmth - and it's not in the form of egg nog.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures to climb by Sunday to 20 to 25 degrees above normal, although it could thaw ground enough to produce flooding in some areas.

The forecast for the rest of the week:

Today should be mostly sunny with a high near 35 and an overnight low of 26. Thursday will also be sunny but with a high of 46.

Then, it starts to really warm with a projected high for Friday of about 51. Forecasters call for a chance of showers Saturday and high near 59.

Sunday, however, will warm to early-spring like temperatures with a high of 66.

But will it last?

Check out the forecast by John Bolaris a bit later today on Philly.com.
