A man accused of shooting three people last month in Brewerytown turned himself in to police Saturday afternoon.
Police said James Cole, 20, surrendered around 2:30 p.m. at the Central Detective Division.
The shooting happened shortly after 5 p.m. April 23, according to investigators. Police said three men were standing on the 2500 block of West Thompson Street when a black four-door vehicle with tinted windows drove up. The driver allegedly opened fire.
A 19-year-old man was shot in the thigh and groin and rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital in extremely critical condition. A second man, 22, was shot in the buttocks and also taken to Hahnemann, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police said further investigation revealed a third man, 22, was shot in the left thigh. That victim was able to identify Cole as the alleged gunman, investigators said. The victim told police he had argued with Cole two days before the shooting.
Cole, of the 400 block of West Delphine Street in Olney, will be charged with three counts of attempted murder and related offenses, according to police.
