Police in Newark, Del. were dealing with traffic snarls Tuesday night after a tractor-trailer hauling live bees overturned on a highway on-ramp.
The one-vehicle crash happened on the Route 896 on-ramp to I-95 north in Newark, according to Delaware State Police.
The ramp was completely closed Tuesday evening as troopers worked to clean up the crash. In a news release sent shortly before 7 p.m., state police warned of "transient bee swarms in the area."
Officials said more information would be released as soon as it became available. In the meantime, drivers were being advised to avoid the area and plan alternate routes of travel.
