Video captures group attack at SEPTA station

Police are looking for the group of young people who attacked a man waiting for a train at a Broad Street Line subway station.

Surveillance video of the incident, released by Philadelphia police on Monday, shows several young men approach another young man sitting on a bench at the Walnut-Locust Station.

The assailants begin beating and punching him, and the crowd of young people is seen following the victim as he tries to escape.

The video shows about 10 young people, many wearing backpacks, in the area of the assault, which happened on a northbound platform shortly after 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim was taken Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment of various minor injuries, police said.
