Vigil planned for missing student

A candlelight vigil is set for this evening at West Chester University for missing student Shane Montgomery.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. outside the Sykes Student Union Building, inside if there is rain.

Montgomery, 21, a senior at the school, has been missing since leaving a bar in Philadelphia's Manayunk section early Thanksgiving morning.

A week-long search for Montgomery by volunteers and law enforcement, including the FBI, has turned up no trace of the Roxborough resident.

His family in the meantime is organizing volunteers to re-post missing fliers that have been damaged by the rain in Manayunk.

Rewards totaling $31,000 are being offered for the young man's safe return.
