What you need to know about SEPTA, NJ Transit, PATCO holiday schedules

SEPTA, New Jersey Transit and PATCO are all operating on adjusted holiday schedules this week. If you're taking public transportation over the next few days, here's what you need to know about getting around.

For travel on Christmas Eve:

SEPTA

- Subways, buses and trolleys will operate on a modified weekday schedule.

- The Norristown High Speed Line will run on a weekday schedule.

- Regional Rail trains will be running on a special schedule. Nine trains that would generally run during the evening rush will operate earlier than normal to accommodate riders leaving early for the holidays. These trains will not run at their regularly scheduled evening times.

PATCO

- Trains are running on a special schedule.

NJ Transit

- All trains will run on a weekday schedule, with additional "early getaway" service  on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, M&E/Midtown Direct, Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Lines.

- The River Line, Newark Light Rail and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a weekday schedule.

- The Family Super Saver Fare, which lets up two children age 11 and younger travel for free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect for the holiday travel period beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The special fare (normally only available on weekends), will be in place through 6 a.m. on Jan. 5 for all train, bus and light rail service.

For travel on Christmas:

SEPTA

- All-night service will be in place on the Market-Frankford and Broad Street subway lines from Christmas Eve into early Christmas morning. Nite Owl trains will run from 12:01 a.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Thursday.

- Subways, buses and trolleys will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

- A special holiday schedule is in place for Regional Rail service.

- Ticket offices at Jefferson, Suburban and 30th Street stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PATCO

- Trains are running on a special schedule.

NJ Transit

- All trains will run on a weekend/major holiday schedule.

- The River Line and Newark Light Rail will operate on a Sunday schedule.

- The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will run on a weekend schedule.

For travel on Dec. 26:

SEPTA

- Subways, buses and trolleys will operate on a modified weekday schedule.

- The Norristown High Speed Line and Regional Rail trains will run on a weekday schedule.

PATCO

- Trains are running on a special schedule.

NJ Transit

- Trains will run on a modified weekday schedule.

- The River Line, Newark Light Rail and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a weekday schedule.
