A body that was found last weekend along the Delaware River in Pennsauken was identified today as that of Haddonfield Memorial High School student John T. "J.T." Haggerty Jr., 17, of Haddonfield, authorities said.

Haggerty, a junior, jumped from the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on April 8, Easter Sunday, after a brief pursuit by Philadelphia police.

A boater spotted the body Sunday on the river bank along Petty's Island and notified Pennsauken Police.

The corpse was unrecognizable, said a spokesman from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Identification was made through dental records.

The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as drowning and the manner of death as suicide.
