Investigators attempting to find a "person of interest" in the beating death last weekend of a Rowan University sophomore have identified the distinctive sweatshirt that man was seen wearing moments before the attack.
The man being sought made a purchase at a convenience store just off the Glassboro campus shortly before Donald Farrell, from Boonton, Morris County, was punched and kicked in a swift attack. Farrell died Sunday from a blow to the neck.
Investigators have been trying since Monday to identify the man caught on the convenience store's surveillance video.
In the video, he is wearing a hooded sweatshirt that Gloucester County authorities said today was a "high-end" Coogi Heritage hoodie, with a gray body and red arms. The sweatshirt also has a number of logos, including a British flag on the left chest area and the number 69 on the arm.
Gloucester and Morris County authorities, along with Rowan University, have offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attackers.
A 24-hour tip line and confidential e-mail address have been established to collect information on the case. They are 856-307-7180 and mcu@co.gloucester.nj.us.
