Man, 26, killed in W. Phila. last night

Two men were shot - one fatally - last night in Powelton Village, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. at 40th and Green Streets in West Philadelphia.

A 26-year-old man, shot once in the abdomen, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead a few minutes after midnight, police said.

The homicide was the city's 370th this year.

The other man, 45, was in stable condition at HUP with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

Another man was critically wounded this morning in the 100 block of West Thelma Street in North Philadelphia.

Just before 1 a.m., the 36-year-old man was shot once in the head, police said.

He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

No arrests have been made in these shootings.
