A fire that broke out this morning at a Conshohocken industrial building kept firefighters busy until midafternoon.

The blaze, which was reported to authorities shortly after 7 a.m, sent thick plumes of smoke billowing away from the Fine Grinding Corp. in the 200 block of East Elm Street.

Montgomery County's hazardous materials unit was called to the scene, amid concerns about chemicals burning.

Residents of nearby homes were reportedly evacuated.
