Britt Reid will be getting out of jail and entering Montgomery County's drug treatment court.

The son of Eagles coach Andy Reid, Britt Reid, 22, has been serving a eight to 23 month jail sentence in connection with a January 2007 road-rage incident. Yesterday he was paroled directly into the treatment court to finish his sentence.

He will be released from Montgomery County prison on Monday to start the 15 month program.

On Jan. 18, he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance last August.

Reid was out on bail for the January offense when witnesses at a Plymouth Township sporting-goods store said he looked to be confused and unable to find his truck. When he did, he drove the truck into a shopping cart.

"I am a young man that has made some bad choices," said Reid when Judge Steven T. O'Neill asked who he was. His voice was barely audible.

Reid will face drug testing at least four times a week, he will be required to attend counseling and 12-step meetings, and will have to hold a job.

Should Reid relapse and be rearrested on any charges, he will finish up the rest of his sentence and not be given credit for "good time," said O'Neill.

"We work with honesty here," said O'Neill. "Keep it honest and you won't run into problems."
