Literature aficionados, or anyone interested in getting a good DVD, CD, or more at a good price can head to Unionville High School this weekend - Feb 29 and March 1 - for the Parent-Teacher Organization's 12th-annual used book sale, postponed from last weekend because of snow.
More than 75,000 books covering all genres, with a large collection of both children's books and older books will cover the tables at Unionville High's cafeteria.
DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, and computer software, all donated by members of the Unionville Chadds-Ford School District community, will also be on sale. Proceeds from the event benefit the Unionville High School PTO. Last year's book sale netted about $26,000.
The sale will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The sale will close at 2:30 p.m on Saturday for 30 minutes, then open back up at 3:00 for a two-hour bag sale, when a grocery bag full of books will cost $7.
The Unionville High girl's lacrosse team will sell lunch food throughout the two days as a fundraiser for their team.
Unionville High School is located at 750 Unionville Road in Unionville.
