Gunfire in W. Phila. critically wounds teen

Early yesterday morning, a teenager was critically wounded in a car in West Philadelphia, police said.

Early yesterday morning, a teenager was critically wounded in a car in West Philadelphia, police said.

The 18-year-old was struck in the head and right arm while in the 5600 block of Walnut Street, and was transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police this morning could not confirm reports that the teenager was driving when numerous bullets struck the car.

The victim's identity was not available this morning.

Police are still trying to determine motives and suspects in this case.
