Vincent Borrelli, chief of public safety for the Delaware River Port Authority, has been removed from duty and placed on administrative leave, DRPA chief executive John Matheussen said today.

Vincent Borrelli, chief of public safety for the Delaware River Port Authority, has been removed from duty and placed on administrative leave, DRPA chief executive John Matheussen said today.

Matheussen declined to say why Borrelli was removed, citing privacy concerns. Borrelli will continue to receive his $175,000 salary while on leave.

Borrelli, a former Philadelphia police officer, has been the DRPA police chief for more than a decade.

An internal investigation of Borrelli raised questions about the way he had run his department, sources said.
