Camden County man sentenced in drug ring

A 21-year-old Atco, Camden County, man was ordered today to serve seven years in state prison for his role in a ring that sold cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription narcotics in South Jersey.

The sentencing of Gerald Foster by Superior Court Judge Samuel D. Natal follows Foster's April 28 guilty plea to a racketeering charge. Foster admitted selling cocaine and marijuana in Camden and Gloucester Counties from April 2006 to January 2007.

Five others were indicted on Sept. 6, 2007, along with Foster, for their participation in the drug ring. Gary R. Maddox, 31, formerly of Washington Township, Gloucester County, and Jason E. McKinnon, 31, of Atco, were charged with a narcotics trafficking network as well as racketeering. Their cases are pending.

Charles Muldrow, 20, also of Atco, previously pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine, as well as intent to distribute. Michael Scott, 37, of Voorhees, pleaded guilty to maintaining a controlled dangerous substance facility. Lori Gephart, 32, of Washington Township, Gloucester County, pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine. Muldrow, Scott, and Gephart are all awaiting sentencing.    - Edward Colimore
