A new principal started this month at Saint Norbert School in Paoli.
Myra Senior DiNicola, 54, of Collegeville, started at the Catholic elementary and middle school on July 1. Senior DiNicola taught music and 4th grade for 10 years at Ancillae-Assumpta Academy in Wyncote before switching to Norristown Area School District, where she taught in elementary schools for 10 years. This is Senior DiNicola's first job in administration.
"It's wonderful, everything's been going very smoothly," said Senior DiNicola, who was picked for the position by a search committee of priests and parishioners in May out of six candidates. The new principal introduced herself to the entire school – Norbert has about 235 students – in May.
"It was a thrill for a day," she said of her introduction to the school. "The students and teachers, they're so full of life, everyone's so full of vigor . . . If I had my pick of all the schools in the area I wouldn't choose another."
Senior DiNicola replaced Theresa Garvin, who left after three years to take the same position at Mother of Divine Providence School in King of Prussia.
