Dorthy Prawdzik stood silently, showing no emotion, as a federal jury convicted her this morning on 15 counts of aiding and abetting the manufacturing of child pornography.
Steven Laver, Prawdzik's court-appointed attorney, described his client as "upset, yes; surprised, no" over the verdict.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle T. Rotella, called the jury's verdict "a big relief." A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18.
Prawdzik, 44, of Drexel Hill, had been on trial in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia with John Jackey Worman, 41, of Colwyn. Worman was found guilty yesterday of 55 counts of manufacturing and one count of possessing child pornography. He faces sentencing in December.
A third defendant, Concetta Jackson, 45, of Collingdale, pleaded guilty. She also will be sentenced in December.
Their activities came to light when one of Prawdzik's children came forward and told of years of sexual abuse at the hands of Worman, whom the prosecutor called "a monster."
