2 allegedly stole cash from vets in wheelchairs

Two Philadelphia women have been arrested on charges they stole $2,000 worth of cash from seven elderly veterans, several of them confined to wheelchairs, at the Veterans Nursing Home at 3461 Civic Center Blvd.

Two Philadelphia women have been arrested on charges they stole $2,000 worth of cash from seven elderly veterans, several of them confined to wheelchairs, at the Veterans Nursing Home at 3461 Civic Center Blvd.

The women, employed as nurse's aides in the Veterans Administration facility, were identified as Ginger Hendrickson, 46, of the 4900 block of Parkside Avenue, and Laura Bell, 51, of the 1100 block of South 23rd Street.

They were accused of stealing from their victims for nearly a year until their arrests Monday. The victims ranged in age from 35 to 80. Both women were charged with criminal conspiracy, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, forgery, fraud and identity theft.
