UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Lawyers at a Long Island firm that has filed a class-action lawsuit against money manager Bernard Madoff say the calls keep coming from people claiming to be victims of the alleged Ponzi scheme.

Attorney Mark Mulholland, head of the litigation department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, said the Uniondale firm has interviewed more than 100 individuals since the suit was filed Friday, according to Newsday. Federal officials have said losses in the alleged scheme amount to $50 billion.

Mulholland said loss claims from those interviewed range from $500 million to $1 billion. He said this afternoon the volume of calls hasn't slowed.

The law firm's listed phone number is (516) 663-6550.

A hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Manhattan federal court to determine if Madoff has met the conditions of a personal bond needed to keep him out of jail.
