ALLENTOWN - Allentown's perennially troubled Hotel Traylor has a new owner.

Local real estate broker David Bodnar and a partner from Philadelphia finalized their purchase Tuesday of the six-story hotel for an undisclosed price from Judy and Harold Fulmer.

Bodnar, the owner of the Sterling Hotel in Allentown, said he and partner James Baiman plan to refurbish the Traylor's existing apartments and first-floor commercial space and add 10 or 12 more apartments.

The two are also negotiating to lease Hary's, a defunct bar and restaurant that was a frequent trouble spot. An unidentified local restaurateur would reopen the facility under a new name.

The Allentown Parking Authority will operate the 177-space parking lot.
