A West Philadelphia man pleaded guilty today to a string of armed robberies in which he sexually assaulted women, often ordering them to remove their shoes so he could suck their toes and fondle their feet.
In a quiet voice, Richard Casey, 50, wearing a brown prison uniform, pleaded guilty to six robberies and sexual attacks on women in several city neighborhoods between late November 2006 to late January 2007.
Prosecutors said Casey faces a maximum of more than 300 years in prison.
Asked why Casey decided to plead guilty, his lawyer, Francis Carmen, a public defender, declined to be specific, saying, "He's always been willing to accept responsibility since my first contact with him."
