Pa. ticket wins $1 million as Powerball rolls over
No one had all the numbers drawn last night in Powerball, but two tickets each won $1 million cash.
No one had all the numbers drawn last night in Powerball, but two tickets each won $1 million cash.
One was purchased in Pennsylvania; the other in Montana.
Powerball is played in 30 states, including Delaware.
Those tickets missed only the Powerball, which was 5, while having the other numbers - 16, 22, 26, 27 and 59 - as well as the Power Play multiplier option.
With no grand-prize winner, Saturday's jackpot will be worth $31 million in yearly payments, or $17 million cash.
That's dwarfed by the $109 million jackpot on the line tomorrow night in Mega Millions, played in New Jersey and 11 other states.
The cash payout to a single winner would be $71.8 million.
Meanwhile, the mystery continues as to who will split the Feb. 28 Powerball jackpot of $174.4 million.
One of the two winning tickets was purchased at Plymouth Meeting Mall, the other at Ben Bow's package store in Dover, Del.
Neither ticket-holder had stepped forward as of this morning.
On average, lottery winners come forward in about two weeks, according to Pennsylvania Lottery officials.
Last week's $144 million jackpot, won by a single Washington, D.C., ticket also remains unclaimed.
By the way, last night's Power Play was 2. But since January, when new rules took effect, the normal second prize of $200,000 always becomes $1 million for anyone with any Power Play.
