TRENTON - A former human resources manager for a Warren County pipe company is facing more than three years in prison for obstructing a federal investigation into worker safety violations.

Scott Faubert of Easton was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Trenton to a 41-month term. He was convicted in 2006 of two counts of obstruction and one count of lying to investigators.

Four other employees of Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Co. also were convicted, along with the company, a division of Birmingham, Ala.-based McWane Inc.

A jury found Atlantic States guilty of polluting the Delaware River and lying about conditions at its Phillipsburg plant, where one worker was killed and several others suffered serious injuries.
