Three slain in bloody night in city

Homicide detectives are investigating three separate slayings overnight, all involving gunfire.

The first victim has been identified as Rasheed Rose, 36, of 2200 block of Cross Street.

Police say Rose was shot in the head and legs multiple times outside the New Hot Spot Bar at 21st and Reed Streets in South Philadelphia's Point Breeze section after 10 p.m. yesterday.

Medics arrived to find Rose lying on the sidewalk outside the bar and transported him to HUP, where he was pronounced dead at 10:33 p.m.

A few hours later, a 17-year-old unidentified male was shot twice in the chest on the 1900 block of South 56th Street in Southwest Philadelphia.

He was pronounced dead at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at 1:51 a.m.

Just before 2:45 a.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in once in the head and once in the side and killed on the 2600 block of Wendle Street in North Philadelphia's Fairhill section.

Police are seeking motives as well as suspects in each of the fatal shootings.
