PECO crews will work throughout the day to restore power to the few hundred households scattered through the Philadelphia area that remain without electricity after last night's damaging thunderstorms, a utility spokesman says.
Parts of North Philadelphia and southern Montgomery County were especially hard hit, said PECO spokesman Ben Armstrong.
In Plymouth Meeting, for example, he said, one large tree knocked down wires on one stretch seven utilty poles long.
PECO is monitoring the weather as more severe storms are expected today, and it plans to keep additional repair crews at the ready to respond to any future outages.
