Former New Jersey State Senator Wayne Bryant is expected to report to a federal prison in West Virginia today to begin serving a four-year term for fruad and bribery.

The once powerful Camden County Democrat was convicted in November of taking a virtually no-show job at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford in exchange for bringing state money to the institution.

He will serve his term at the minimum-security camp in Beckley, W.Va.

Bryant had served as chairman of the state Senate budget committee before stepping down in 2007 after serving 25 years in the Legislature.
