Three Norristown brothers and a cousin were indicted today for conspiring to distribute more than 96 pounds of cocaine valued at $1.5 million, authorities said.
Jaime Verdin-Perez, Miguel Verdin-Perez, and Agustin Verdin, and their cousin, Edgar Verdin-Diaz, were arrested July 1 and charged with multiple drug distribution counts.
According to the indictment, the men received 44 kilograms of cocaine on June 30 in King of Prussia and stored it overnight at the home of Miguel Verdin-Perez. DEA agents arrested the three brothers the next day in a Philadelphia parking lot at G Street and Hunting Park Avenue when they allegedly tried to sell one kilo to a buyer for $31,000.
Agents found ten more kilos hidden in a Honda Accord driven by Jaime Verdin-Perez. At the Norristown house on the 500 block of East Moore Street, agents found an additional 34 kilograms of cocaine, a loaded .380 caliber handgun, an unspecified amount of cash, and packaging materials.
