About 9:50 p.m., a gunman approached a group of people at the corner of 65th and Regent Streets and opened fire, said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives. A woman in her late teens or early 20s was shot multiple times in the chest. She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and pronounced dead.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the back and was reported in critical condition at HUP, Walker said. A 21-year-old man was shot in the leg and was listed in stable condition at the hospital.

Initial police information described the assailant as fleeing the scene on a bicycle. No arrest was reported.
