Center City's popular Monk's Cafe reopened today after being closed by the city since Sunday when a fire escape gave way, sending a man hurtling four stories to his death.
An employee answering the phone at Monk's at 264 S. 16th St. said the tavern reopened today. A boisterous Friday night crowd could be heard in the background.
Steven Lee, 25, and a 24-year-old woman fell from the fourth floor after the fire escape detached from the building. The woman was treated at a hospital and released the next day. - Inquirer staff
