NYC mayor to don Phils jersey, paint a mural, when...

When, (did we say when? yes we did) the Phillies win this World Series, the city will receive a bonus gift from New York.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg will dress, not in mourning, but in a Phillies jersey, and come down to the City of Brotherly Love to help paint a mural on a recreation center wall.

To be fair, there are two sides to this. If, by some remote chance, that other team wins, then Mayor Michael Nutter has to put on a Yankees jersey, grab a paint brush and bucket, and turn to beautifying the Albert Einstein Intermediate School in the Bronx.

Both mayors are scheduled to appear on Good Morning America today to discuss the wager.

Philadelphia Mural Arts director Jane Golden said she was looking forward to putting the Big Apple's head honcho to work.

"Someone asked me . . . if I think Mayor Bloomberg can paint," Golden said. "He seems like a guy who can pick up a new skill - right?"
