Decomposed body found under A.C. boardwalk

Officials are trying to identify the decomposed body of a man found by firefighters putting out a trash fire under the Atlantic City Boardwalk over the weekend.

The fire was under Schiff's Central Pier, scene of a fire last month.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that police received a call about 3:15 p.m. Saturday reporting a body under the pier, but officers found nothing.

However, two hours later, firefighter responding to a fire under the pier found the remains, the newspaper says.

Homeless people are known to live under the pier.
