Candlelight vigil tonight in Pottstown for crash victims

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight at Pottstown High School in memory of the two students killed over the weekend in a car crash.

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight at Pottstown High School in memory of the two students killed over the weekend in a car crash.

The student-sponsored service will begin at 8 p.m., said John Armato, district spokesman. The school is at 750 N. Washington St., Pottstown.

On Saturday, a car carrying six teenagers from three area schools rolled over on Route 100 between Farmington and Moyer Roads in Upper Pottsgrove.

Andrea Antonio-Harris, 16, and Breanna Brothers, 15, both students at Pottstown, were killed, and the other four students were injured. At least one of the injured students was from Pottsgrove, and another was from Boyertown Junior High School West.

It was the second fatal crash in three weeks involving students from the area. On Nov. 23, two of six Pottsgrove High School students were killed when the Honda SUV in which they were riding went out of control on Route 724 in East Coventry, Chester County.
