A state trooper shot and wounded a teenager this morning following a chase that started in I-95 and ended at a dead end outside a cemetery in Frankford, officials say.

A state trooper shot and wounded a teenager this morning following a chase that started in I-95 and ended at a dead end outside a cemetery in Frankford, officials say.

6ABC reports that the trooper opened fire when a van driven by the teen tried to back out of the cul de sac and drove towards the officers.

The 16-year-old driver was hit in the shoulder and taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

The chase began on I-95 about 2:45 a.m. and ended at a dead end on East Sanger Street at Walker Street outside the Mount Sinai Cemetery, authorities say.

During the chase, the fleeing teen sideswiped a number of vehiclesm officials say. Two other people in the van have been taken into custody.
