Two men were critically injured today when their car crashed into a parked vehicle while trying to elude police in Camden County, officials said.

Authorities said Bellmawr Special Police Officer Jared Walton tried to pull over a 1989 Honda driven by Michael Weil, 26, that was traveling erratically on the eastbound lanes of Kings Highway in Bellmawr about 2 a.m.

Instead of stopping, Weil drove away and crashed into a parked car in Mount Ephraim, throwing passenger Matthew Schafer, 20, from the vehicle.

Weil and Schaefer, both of Maple Shade, were reported in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

An investigation is under way and no charges have been filed.
