Police today charged four teenagers with murder in the death of a 60-year-old pizza deliveryman who died of a heart attack moments after he was robbed and carjacked Sunday.
Jaime Orozco-Torres, who worked for Ed's Pizza House in the city's West Oak Lane section, was lured to an abandoned building by a group of teens who ambushed him, police said.
The four teens charged were Rasheed Ceasar, 18; Talan Baldwin, 17; Dominique Jones, 14; and Demetrius Robinson, 14, police said. They each face murder, robbery, theft, and conspiracy charges. The minors are charged as adults.
Orozco-Torres was called out for a delivery about 4 p.m. and went to an address on 21st Street near Godfrey Avenue. The address turned out to be a vacant building.
When Orozco-Torres got out of his car with the food, a group of males surrounded him, police said. At least one person struck Orozco-Torres, after which he began having chest pains.
The attackers stole an unknown amount of money and fled in his 1992 Nissan Sentra, police said.
Orozco-Torres called the pizzeria asking for someone to come get him. A coworker and Orozco-Torres' son-in-law, who also works at the pizza shop, found him on the ground and called for help.
Orozco-Torres was later pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center. The car was found a few hours later.
