Jurors continue to deliberate Danieal Kelly caseworkers

Jurors will continue deliberating tomorrow at the federal health care fraud trial stemming from the 2006 death of 14-year-old Danieal Kelly. Four employees of the now-defunct MultiEthnic Behavior Health Inc. are charged with fraud and conspiracy in U.S. District Court.

Two managers and two caseworkers are accused of failing to provide services paid for with federal funds, fabricating reports claiming caseworkers provided in-home visits to at-risk children, and conspiring to obstruct an FBI investigation.

Kelly, whose family was supposed to be monitored by MultiEthnic, died of severe bedsores and malnutrition. She suffered from cerebral palsy and weighed 42 pounds at her death.
